The School since inception has always aimed at bringing about a change in the environment both physical & social. For the past decade, it has been bringing about awareness regarding creatures, mindsets and habits. Plant a butterfly project is also an endeavour in the same direction.


The fraternity wished to bring about an awareness among the people of the world about the importance of butterflies in the maintenance if the ecological balance. The first step in this direction was the setting up of the Butterfly Conservatory in the school The enclosure had the butterfly host plants. Subsequently students were given the responsibility to take care of the plants. Butterfly painting activity further aroused the interest of the students in these vibrant creatures.


Ms. Shefali, a butterfly art enthusiast was invited to the school. She taught the technique of Gond Art to paint the butterflies in a unique manner. The efforts of the school gained wings when a 6 Member delegation of dips-Rohini under the leadership of Principal Mrs. Madhu Kansal, attended the 3 day. Ist International Butterfly Symposium at Villach organized by Peraugymnasium, Villach.


The delegation presented their paper on the local population of Butterflies in India and their preservation & conservation. The group also took the opportunity to visit the National Park and the Fossil Park at Villach. They scaled the heights of the Alps at Nockalmbrot; Friesach ad Ossiach.


The delegation also traversed through the city of canals Venice and the capital of Austria Vienna. They came back rich with the knowledge of architecture and culture of Austria and information about the vibrant creatures of Nature-The Butterflies. The school has developed a small butterfly conservatory and is now seeking the co-operation of its parents to plant Butterfly Host Plants thus helping the preserving & conserving the butterflies which play an important role in the process of pollination and environment protection.
