A post graduate in Botany, Mrs. Madhu Kansal started her career as a Research Fellow with Indian Agriculture Research Institute in the year 1980, wherein she worked on Flowering & Fruit Set Behaviour in Grain Legumes. Her papers on the following topics were published in the Journal of Agricultural Science, Cambridge.

Her sojourn with the academic field began in 1988 as a Science Teacher in one of the upcoming schools of Delhi. Her diligent sincere work coupled with her administrative streaks got her promoted as the Principal of the school in a very short span of time. Within a decade of her leadership the school rose to be a Recognised Senior Secondary School with a humungous strength of 5500 students and more than 300 staff members. She was recognized for her work and awarded for her vision.

She has been instrumental in winning the Pt. Motilal Nehru Parliamentary Shield at the 47th Youth Parliament Competition organized by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. of India.
She also mentored the project Bring the Sparrows Home by Design for Change for which the school received the Certificate of Appreciation.
She also had the privilege to lead her students on many National & International Conferences & Symposiums.
Her name is also featured in the Limca Book of Records 2002 for the Project ‘Education Through Lens’ project which initiated an in-house Broadcasting station in the school run & managed by students teachers.
She also had the privilege to host the X-mas celebration at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on behalf of the President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
At present she is actively involved in promoting the Butterfly Conservation Programme for which she represented India at the 1st International Butterfly Symposium held at Villach, Austria in June 2015.
She has also mentored the programme East Speaks West West Speaks East- India Odyssey 2015 in collaboration with Salzmannschule Schnepfenthal,Germany.As a part of this programme 9 members delegation represented the school in Germany and in turn a 7 member delegation from the german school stayed in India for 3 weeks experiencing Indian Hospitality Culture while exploring Indian History, Tradition,Geography and Cuisine.
She believes in the holistic development of the students and is of the opinion that each individual is a treasure trove.
